Selective focus, dramatic lighting, and a fun cast of characters made this series of spots for Nike Basketball a blast to shoot. The production timeline made them challenging to boot. Nine spots in two days! Thankfully, the guys at Central Planning kept the ship on course.

The Company of Thieves – Sneak Peak

I’m very excited to present a few “Sneak Peek” stills from The Company of Thieves. Shot in the early spring with Writer/Director Shilpa Sunthankar, the film follows the protagonist Dex as he hunts down former partner Sanjeev to steal back his stolen loot. Raising questions about destiny vs. choice, violent means, and utilizing symbols and story points from Hindu tradition makes for an interesting ride.

Nike – Holiday Gear

This was a fun live-action/motion-graphics hybrid. I always enjoy the challenge of lighting for 360 degree views while keeping the product looking premium. Throwing in vertical perspective shifts gave the motion-graphics team more options for how they played the products in virtual space.

Shands Hospital – Raising Hope – Jerry Davis

One of two multi-screen video installation for the new Shands Cancer Hospital at the University of Florida. In-camera techniques creating ambient, ghosted images underscore these interview based pieces.

This shoot included many moments both tough, and touching, as Jerry Davis recounted his numerous battles with cancer, and his ongoing commitment to supporting Shands’ mission

Demo Reel – January 2009

Cut in January 2009, this reel features work on commercial projects for, among others – Nike, HP, and ICS. Narrative projects include “The Lady Who Swallow a Fly,” “Freedom State,” “TV Funhouse – SNL” and “The Everything Machine.” As well, excerpts from Natalie Warner and Jenny Dalton music videos are cut into the mix.
